Full Artist Bio
Janel, in the last thirty years, has traveled the world photographing the beauty of this earth. Recently, she has extended her creative passion to a new art form. This new medium, encaustic, reflects her love of nature in a pure, simple, artistic form. Textures, layering, color and composition are important features in her pieces.
Janel Pahl is a Master Photographer, an approved PPA instructor and a national judge for the Professional Photographers of America. In addition, she is a teacher of photography and has inspired aspiring and professional photographers around the world. She has presented her workshops in Canada, Italy, Korea, England, Ireland and throughout the United States. Her images have won numerous national and international awards. Along with her portraits, Janel’s fine art images are published with the Canadian art group Winn Devon.
Artist Statement
“As I grow older, living life with purpose has become important to me. Creating art with a message is something that is new to me. Our world can be a bit ugly sometimes, filled with anger and hate towards each other. My message is simple. Love. Love which creates beauty. Beauty I find in nature. While I make no attempt to portray my subjects as realistic, I do want my creations to appear as if they have lived somewhere. I do not take life seriously, but my intent is to live life with a passion for it. My art is just that. Living with beautiful art that pays tribute to the natural world reminds us to slow down and helps us reconnect with nature and each other.”
